Red Arrows at Whitby
We went camping at the weekend over on the east coast of Yorkshire I was hoping to visit the puffins at Bempton Cliffs but the weather was pretty miserable so we decided to go and look at Whitby instead. We did the usual walk round the Abbey and into the town had Fish and Chips and then went to the harbour.
Then we heard an announcement, the Red Arrows were coming to do a display over the harbour. This was a complete surprise as it didn't seem to be advertised anywhere around the town. We went back up to the Church and watched from there, the weather was still rather grey and cloudy but as always the show was excellent.
I only had a 200mm lens with 1.4 teleconverter mounted on my 5d, I think I could have done with a bit more reach. A number of these shots have been cropped a bit. I did consider using my Sigma 50-500 but thought that a slower lens with slow autofocus may have been a bad choice and so I left it in the car.
